With the UK parliament currently hung and no party seemingly able to take control of the situation, there may be only one solution- to start your own political party. A political fancy dress party that is!
While politics might seem like a rather dry theme for a fancy dress party, consider some past political figures from world history- Winston Churchill, Mahatma Ghandi, Margaret Thatcher, Fidel Castro, Abraham Lincoln- and youâll see that it may well be an unlikely goldmine of fancy dress costumes.
To get your political party into full swing you will of course need some fancy dress party games. The classic board game âRiskâ seems particularly appropriate, or perhaps a game of Trivial Pursuit. If you fancy a party game thatâs a little less cerebral then Twister might be just the thing. You know itâs a good party when George Washington is precariously balanced in the splits position and Mikhael Gorbachev is leaning over Hillary Clinton!
When searching for your ideal fancy dress political figure, improvisation is of course the key, but if you can get hold of Spitting Image style latex masks then your political party should really start to swing. Thereâs nothing like a lifelike Tony Blair or Richard Nixon mask to amuse your friends and terrify your enemies.
You could even hold a fancy dress mock election, in which the player with the least votes must carry out a forfeit, or the winner can make up rules for the rest of the party to follow.
And once the partyâs over, you can squabble over whoâs going to clean up the mess, and just whose fault it is anyway.
