1970s Party Theme

The 1970s was a decade of fun and frivolity and there was a fair chance you would be in the disco on a Friday and Saturday night dancing to the sound of Abba singing Dancing Queen, David Bowie in Starman, Mick Jagger and of course Punk music. The gentlemen would try to emulate John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever but invariably embarrass themselves in front of the ladies.

Decorate the venue with Disco Balls and Lava Lamps and 1970’s posters of your favourite pop groups and those American cops Starsky and Hutch-do you remember them ladies? There is no need to hire a band but a DJ would be a superb addition to play 1970’s music into the early hours.

Both ladies and men wore flared trousers and jeans sometimes with bell-bottoms and they were often worn short, stopping at the ankle. Hippy costumes were still popular. Tight fitting Lycra jumpsuits, platform shoes, frilled shirts. Punks wore ripped jeans, teashirt and safety pins in places you wouldn’t think possible.

Party Connection stock a huge range of 1970s Party Theme fancy dress costumes and accessories to give your 1970s party an authentic feel. How about a Disco Diva costume for the ladies or a Rocket Man costume for the gents or perhaps a Dancing Queen Cat suit or a Village People Biker costume. Don’t forget the big shades! We have themed plates, napkins, disco table sprinkles and confetti and shiny balloons to help your 1970s party theme go with a bang.

Why go anywhere else when you can get all this and more right here?
