The 1940s was a time for the Big Band sounds of Glenn Miller but also singers such as Frank Sinatra. Pop into the local CD store and you will find some suitable 1940s music compilations so that your guests can dance the night away to the jitterbug, the fox trot and swing dancing.
Food was rationed so be sparing. Luncheon meat, mashed potatoes, baked beans, corned beef stew, bread, cheese, and sausages with bread and butter pudding to finish.
